Taking advantage of his four-day stay in Gabon, President Denis Sassou N’Guesso, on July 26, visited the main construction sites underway in Libreville, accompanied by his counterpart, Brice Clotaire Oligui Nguema.
After a brief meeting, the two heads of state visited, among other sites, the Baie des Rois, a vast urban development project on Libreville’s waterfront. Presented as a future smart and eco-responsible district, this site is destined to become a major hub for economic, residential, and tourism development. They then visited the Cité Émeraude, a modern administrative complex located on Boulevard Bessieux, which houses several ministries and public services on a three-hectare site, as part of the modernization of Gabonese state infrastructure.
At the end of the visit, Denis Sassou N’Guesso commended his counterpart’s efforts to modernize Gabon, highlighting the scale of the transformations undertaken. The Gabonese president then accompanied his guest to Léon-Mba International Airport, where a farewell ceremony, marked by military honors and the playing of the national anthems of both countries, preceded the Congolese head of state’s return to Brazzaville.
As a reminder, Denis Sassou N’Guesso went to Gabon to attend the civil marriage of his grandson Omar Denis Junior Bongo Ondimba with Julia Otto Mbongo.
